Club History

Initial Draft

The idea for an inventor club to serve the SW London area came from David Nicholas who had a part in setting up the very successfule WRTI some years previously.  David, sometime known as the "Patron Saint of Inventors", had joined Kingston University Enterprise Exchange to set up The Virtual Company (TVC) initiative, but sadly died suddenly in December 2004 just as this new venture was getting off the ground.

Inspired by his vision, a Steering Group got underway in early 2005 led by John Halliday, supported by Marie Withers from KU Enterprise Exchange and Bob Lindsey of Business Link London.  This culminated in a well-attended inaugural event in April 2005....

The Steering Group became an informal Commitee and set about organising events and formalising the club.
After some months of wrangling about membership and subscriptions, we decided that was all too much trouble, and the club now runs simply on a mailing list.  Nonethelss there have been some consistent regulars since the outset.

Towards the end of 2008 John handed over to Bob who now organises the programme.....
